This is an allegorical painting exploring love as an emotional state of mind. But this painting goes deeper and has two stories and meanings. The first one is that looking after ourselves is the most important thing we could ever do, only by looking after ourselves we are able to achieve great things and reach our potential; self love is essential. On the other hand; this painting is a message from the artist wishing that every person she has loved and then lost, are looking after themselves. No matter how painful losing that person was, the artist wish nothing but the best.
I used iridescent colours and air manipulation to convey the change that we achieve once we understand the importance of love and letting go. That is why I invite the audience to not just passively observe the painting but actively look at it from many angles and lighting.
