Serenity is derived from the Latin sērenus, meaning "bright, clear, serene." Green is highly restful and encouraging has been shown to have positive effects on mood and sentiment. Blue has calming and cooling properties due to its resemblance to the sky and ocean . White emits a soft, pure energy perfect for meditation and healing, while gold stimulates intellectual and creative processes. I used this color psychology in the painting to create a sense of calm, but not too still creating a sense of energy and harmony. The square shape is thought to promote stability as well.
